Most firms treat marketing as a series of projects. A campaign. A website refresh. A content push. You plan it, you publish it, you move on, and then nothing tells you whether any of it is still working.

This piece makes the case for a different habit: a continuous audit. Not a process exercise, and not about making anything faster. Just a standing rhythm of looking at what your marketing is actually doing and deciding what to change. Each pass produces three decisions. One thing to start, one to continue, one to stop. Named out loud, every quarter. That is the whole discipline.

It also covers why the rhythm has to be continuous now rather than annual, as AI summaries absorb clicks that used to go to search results, and why larger firms should run the audit at practice group level instead of firm wide. There is a short version you can try this quarter without adopting the full method.
